Machinima Learnings from Namara: Episode 1 Part C

Spot On! Choreography & Stairs

Spot On! was a hero in this part of the episode as well. The entire first scene of Edgar and Inviktus walking through the castle was a long Spot On! Choreography sequence that brought the avatars from the library, up a set of stairs, out onto a rooftop ledge, through the kitchen, and across a bridge - all with the click of a button. This was AMAZING because it allowed me to focus on grabbing footage and moving avatars - not actually clicking and moving them around.

BeSpoke ‘Murda’ Head - Murda Knightstalker

I don’t want to spoil too much about this character’s origin, but I’m SO thankful for BeSpoke’s Murda head because it allowed me to capture this heinous mini-liche’s personality in a weird way - instantly- with a flick of the tongue. (If you’ve watched this part of the episode, you’ll know what I’m talking about.) This pack comes with loads of skin options and different BOM layers - I decided to pair it up with BeSpoke’s Ghoulish Fascia skin pack to help complete the look. Wicked right? :)

Check out the BeSpoke Caravan store to make your OWN heroes AND monsters as well! :)

Vae Victis by Grimoire Hexem

I learned about this brand from Gonje, and I was so excited to get to use some of their animesh items - especially in that scene with Murda. The book - the floating heart - it’s everything you could ever need to help show a ‘necromancer casting undead magic’. I don’t blog for them or anything, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go look at their work. If you are into photography, role play, or machinima, they are an invaluable resource for all kinds of items that might otherwise be hard to find. Check out their to see what I’m talking about. :)

Bay City Studios Website

It’s up! The Namara page isn’t very detailed, but I did manage to do the following:

  • Create the ‘Casting Call’ list of needs for actors, actresses, animators, sculptors, artists…whatever! The fact of the matter is you can’t do machinima alone. Hopefully this will make it easier to show people how they can get involved and what the time commitment truly is.

  • Made a space for the Bay City Fashion Show information. That’s right - the Bay City Studio’s Production Team is going to try and host a fashion show - both in world and a pre-filmed version that’s highly produced with that same ‘Victoria Secret’s Angels’ vibe. It’s got a promo video, all the info on who we need, and what to do if you are interested. Check it out if you haven’t already! We need designers, models, and musicians! :) We need YOU!

  • Most of the cool ‘Namara’ work on the website isn’t up just yet - I’ve got a simple place holder with the full first episode as the only page visible to the public. I’ve been working on a ‘wiki’ style set of links, images, video, and information that I plan to release after the end of the next episode (when more things have been revealed about the world as a whole). So stay tuned! :)

Deadlines

I’m no longer moving (YAY!). That means I need to hold harder to my deadlines. Moving forward, we plan to use two dates (15th & 30th) as our markers to get the rough drafts over to the voice actors. We really want to give them more than just a script - Luci said that having the video, music, and sounds made it much easier to act….so we try and give them as close to the finished product as possible.

By sticking to these days, this will give them roughly 3-5 days to do their parts and get the audio back to the production team; We then can, in turn, give the production team a little more time to have all of the pieces before creating the final product. My hopes is that this schedule will create bi-monthly episodes for our viewers - full 30 minute episodes - and give us all enough time to do what we need to do.

Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to subscribe on YouTube! :)
